With Queen Camilla he was crowned at Westminster Abbey on 6 May 2023 by the Archbishop of Canterbury according to ancient rites and traditions. King Charles was the 40th British monarch to be crowned, and at 74 years of age, also the oldest. This cover bears the stamp issued in 2023 for the King’s coronation. It features the official coronation portrait of King Charles III, who is wearing St Edward’s crown.
